Israeli defense minister declares that Gaza will not receive humanitarian aid
Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz announced that the country will continue to block humanitarian aid from entering the war-torn Gaza Strip, where intense aerial and ground assaults have reignited.

"Israel's policy is clear: No humanitarian aid will enter Gaza, and blocking this aid is one of the main pressure levers preventing Hamas from using it as a tool with the population," Katz stated amid a worsening humanitarian crisis, following Israel's decision to halt aid since March 2.

“No one is currently planning to allow any humanitarian aid into Gaza, and there are no preparations to enable such aid," Katz further emphasized.

The United Nations has alerted that Gaza is currently facing its most acute humanitarian crisis since the war began in October 2023.

"The humanitarian situation is now likely the worst it has been in the 18 months since the outbreak of hostilities," said the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA).

According to OCHA, Gaza has not received any supplies for a month and a half, leading to critical shortages of medical supplies, fuel, water, and other essential items.

"Due to the closure of the crossings compounded by restrictions within Gaza, dwindling supplies have forced them to ration and reduce deliveries to make the most of the remaining stocks," OCHA explained.

Following the collapse of a ceasefire agreement on January 19, tensions escalated, and Israel resumed its military offensive in the region. Since then, hundreds of thousands of people have been displaced.

Israel maintains strict control over the entry of essential international aid for the 2.4 million Palestinians residing in the Gaza Strip.
