Israeli aircraft hit sites in Lebanon, says IDF
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have reported that suspected Hezbollah arms depots, observation posts, and manpower have been targeted in a series of strikes.

In a recent publication, the IDF shared a video that ostensibly shows its warplanes attacking Hezbollah military infrastructure situated in southern Lebanon. This bombardment, which occurred on Wednesday, aimed at the group's manpower, arms depots, observation posts, and various other facilities, according to a post on X.

The video included aerial footage depicting strikes purportedly conducted in the vicinity of southern Lebanon’s settlements of Aitaroun, Maroun al-Ras, and Odaisseh. Additionally, the IDF reported that approximately 40 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards the Safed area in Upper Galilee, northern Israel, on the same day. While some rockets were intercepted, others landed without causing any damage. The Israeli military also stated that several drones targeting Western Galilee were successfully shot down by its air defenses.

According to the Lebanese health ministry, over 1,000 people have been killed and around 6,000 others injured due to the Israeli strikes in recent weeks amid a significant escalation of hostilities.

Firing exchanges along the border between the IDF and Hezbollah have escalated since Israel began its military operation in Gaza in response to a Hamas incursion last October.

On Monday, Israel initiated ground operations in Lebanon, with special forces conducting raids across the border. Reports from The Times and several Middle Eastern news outlets indicate that the IDF incurred multiple casualties, including an unconfirmed number of fatalities, following an ambush by Hezbollah fighters near the village of Odaisseh. To date, Israel has confirmed the death of one of its soldiers within Lebanon.
