Israel Strikes Lebanon-Syria Border
Israeli jets have targeted a border crossing between Syria and Lebanon at Matraba, resulting in injuries to at least eight individuals, as reported by Syrian state media.

This strike occurs four days into Israel's campaign against Lebanon, referred to as “Northern Arrows,” which is reportedly focused on Hezbollah.

“The Israeli enemy suddenly targeted arrivals from Lebanese territory on the crossing bridge between Syria and Lebanon, injuring eight individuals,” stated Ayal Alloush, the director of the border crossing, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA.

Alloush also indicated that the bombing inflicted property damage on the crossing and adjacent areas. Matraba is situated in the Homs governorate, which lies along the borders of northern and central Lebanon.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have confirmed that they struck "infrastructure" on the Syria-Lebanon border, asserting that Hezbollah had been using the Matraba bridge for weapons smuggling from Syria, according to the Times of Israel.

Israeli airstrikes hit the bridge on the Syrian side of the crossing, as reported by Lebanese Transportation Minister Ali Hamieh to Reuters, who added that it remains unclear whether the crossing is still operational.

Since Monday, the IDF has conducted over 1,500 sorties against Lebanon, claiming to have significantly diminished Hezbollah's capabilities, estimating a setback of 20 years. Lebanese authorities report that nearly 700 individuals have been killed as a result of these strikes, which include many women and children.

The most devastating single strike thus far is said to have taken 23 lives in Younine, near Baalbek. Israeli bombs targeted a building housing Syrian refugees, resulting in primarily female and child casualties, as noted by Younine Mayor Ali Qusas.
