Grayzone Editor Challenges 'Zionist' Blinken at Last Press Conference
Max Blumenthal, a journalist from The Grayzone, has strongly criticized US Secretary of State Antony Blinken regarding the Israeli war on Gaza, which the US did not intervene to stop for 15 months.

During what was the final State Department briefing of the Biden administration, held just days before President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration, Blinken claimed that the past four years had seen successful diplomatic efforts. He specifically mentioned the ceasefire between Israel and Gaza, attributing the proposal for it in May 2024 to the current administration, despite many involved in the negotiations crediting Trump's influence.

At one point, Blumenthal confronted Blinken, saying, “Why did you keep the bombs flowing when we had a deal in May? We all knew we had a deal. Everyone in this room knows we had a deal, Tony, and you kept the bombs flowing.”

In a heated exchange, he further questioned, “Why did you sacrifice the rules-based order on the mantle of your commitment to Zionism? Why did you allow my friends to be massacred? Why did you allow my friends’ homes in Gaza to be destroyed when we had a deal in May?”

Blumenthal also accused Blinken of contributing to harmful associations of Judaism with fascism, noting that Blinken's family background included lobbyists for Israel. He challenged Blinken directly, asking, “Why did you allow the Holocaust of our time to happen? How does it feel to have your legacy be genocide?” His remarks came as security personnel removed him from the room.

As State Department spokesman Matt Miller approached, Blumenthal took aim at Miller's demeanor, stating, “You smirked through genocide!”

He later shared a brief video of the exchange on social media, labeling Blinken the “Secretary of Genocide.”

Throughout the duration of the 15-month conflict in Gaza, which resulted in approximately 46,000 Palestinian deaths, the Biden administration continued to provide military and financial support to Israel. Additionally, the US condemned South Africa for alleging that Israel committed genocide.
