China to Pioneer Cities Utilizing BeiDou Satellite Navigation
Here is a rewritten version of the article description: China is set to introduce pioneering cities to utilize the BeiDou satellite navigation system.
The ministry aims to select a number of pilot cities to showcase the use of BeiDou across various sectors including mass consumption, manufacturing, and cutting-edge fields such as the industrial internet and artificial intelligence (AI).
According to the official statement, the broad deployment of BeiDou is now at a pivotal phase involving market adoption, industrial growth, and reaching global markets.
China intends to drive industry empowerment with BDS by promoting leading companies, enhancing the quality of products, and creating a strong industrial framework, the statement noted.
The pilot initiatives will concentrate on three principal sectors: mass consumption, manufacturing, and comprehensive innovation.
For mass consumption applications, the chosen pilot cities will develop sectors like smartphones, wearable technology, tablets, shared mobility services, and low-flying drones. Firms will be urged to create and produce devices equipped with BeiDou, improving the availability of such products.
Regarding industrial manufacturing, the pilot initiatives will push forward the integration of BeiDou in critical sectors such as automotive, maritime, aviation, and robotics, as mentioned in the announcement.
Local authorities will be motivated to support the development of platforms linked to vehicle networking and intelligent systems, and to increase the inclusion of BDS in both commercial and passenger vehicles.
In terms of integrated innovation, opportunities for "BeiDou Plus" applications will be identified. Promotion of BeiDou's innovative uses in burgeoning sectors like vehicle internet, internet of things, industrial internet, and AI will take precedence.
These strategies are anticipated to seamlessly incorporate BDS into new applications such as smart cities, intelligent transportation systems, efficient logistics, smart maritime services, and precise farming practices, according to the announcement.
