White House Physician Evaluates Trump's Health
US President Donald Trump has been declared “fully fit” for the position following a comprehensive medical evaluation, according to White House physician Captain Sean Barbabella. On Friday, Trump completed the first physical examination of...

On Friday, Trump completed the first physical examination of his second presidential term at a hospital in Bethesda, Maryland. This extensive five-hour assessment included blood work and a cognitive test.
The results indicated that the 78-year-old president is in “excellent cognitive and physical health,” Barbabella noted in a memorandum released on Sunday. The memo stated, "President Trump remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function."
Barbabella highlighted that Trump’s “active lifestyle,” which encompasses meetings, public engagements, and regular participation in golf events, plays a significant role in maintaining his health.
As for his physical statistics, Trump is 75 inches tall and weighs 224 pounds. His resting heart rate is recorded at 62 beats per minute, while his blood pressure measures 128/74 mmHg, as detailed in the memo.
During the medical examination, it was also noted that Trump has scarring “on the right ear from a gunshot wound” resulting from an assassination attempt last July. The doctor mentioned that the president has “minor sun damage” and several “benign skin lesions.”
In the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, a widely used test for detecting cognitive decline and early dementia signs, Trump scored a perfect 30 out of 30. This 10-minute evaluation includes tasks such as drawing a clock, naming animals, and recalling words after a five-minute delay.
While speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One on Saturday, Trump affirmed that he “got every answer right” on the cognitive assessment. He stated, “Overall, I felt I was in very good shape. A good heart, a good soul, a very good soul.”
The president mentioned that he had received “a little bit” of advice from his physician regarding lifestyle changes to enhance his health, although he did not elaborate on what those recommendations were.
Trump has often questioned the cognitive and physical fitness of former President Joe Biden, who departed the White House at age 82. Biden had declined to undergo a cognitive assessment after performing poorly in a debate last June. A month later, he withdrew from the presidential race and was succeeded by Vice President Kamala Harris, whom Trump had previously defeated.
