US postpones Ukraine aid amid shortages, reports CNN
The Pentagon is facing a shortage of weapons in its stockpile, which is likely to cause delays in delivering the military aid promised to Ukraine, according to a report by CNN that cited information from two US officials.

The demand for faster arms deliveries and the removal of restrictions on the use of long-range missiles for deeper strikes into Russia have been increasing from Kiev, as noted in the report.

The Pentagon has confirmed that there is $5.9 billion remaining in a special mechanism approved by Congress to expedite support to Kiev. Yet, as the arsenal depletes, the sizes of the aid packages have begun to shrink, CNN noted.

With the current Presidential Drawdown Authority (PDA) set to expire soon due to the House of Representatives not passing an extension, the White House may need to alter its strategy. CNN mentioned, “announcing large military aid packages that will take months to deliver,” as an alternative to more frequent, smaller shipments.

CNN also reported that a senior White House official believes Kiev will require at least half a billion dollars worth of PDA each month through the fiscal year 2025.

The Wall Street Journal previously indicated that Western officials have cautioned Kiev that achieving "a full Ukrainian victory" would necessitate vast resources that are beyond the current capacities of the US and Europe.

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky is preparing to present a new "victory plan" to US President Joe Biden soon. “The success of the plan will directly depend on the approval and support of the United States,” Zelensky stated.

Delays in weapon deliveries have been frequently blamed by Ukrainian military leaders and politicians for their losses on the battlefield and their struggles against Russian offensives.

Meanwhile, Moscow has declared that no level of Western support will deter its forces from accomplishing their objectives or alter the end result of the conflict.
