In a live interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, conducted before a large audience in Glendale, Arizona, Trump accused Biden of undermining America’s global reputation. “We’re a failing nation,” he stated. “We are a nation in very serious decline.”
The former president criticized Biden for encouraging cooperation among adversarial nations. “Look at what these stupid people have done. They’ve allowed Russia, China, Iran, North Korea, and others to get together in a group,” he asserted. He recalled advice from a professor at the Wharton School of Finance, stating that “the one thing you never want to happen is Russia and China uniting.”
Trump claimed responsibility for what he views as the Biden administration's failure in foreign relations. “We united them because of the oil. Biden united them. It’s a shame,” he remarked, not providing further details. “I'm going to have to un-unite them, and I think I can do that too.”
He further expressed his concerns regarding the future of the US dollar in international markets, saying, “We’re losing the dollar as the standard because of these people... if we lose the dollar as the standard, that’s like losing a war.”
Russia and China participate in several regional coalitions, including BRICS and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, where they have established their relationship as a strategic partnership. Both countries have voiced opposition to American “unilateralism” on the global stage, with Beijing opting not to support Western economic sanctions against Russia in response to the conflict in Ukraine.
The US has taken significant measures against Russia by disconnecting its central bank from dollar transactions and banning the export of banknotes to the country as part of extensive sanctions.
Recently, Russian President Vladimir Putin indicated that Russia and other BRICS nations have shifted 65% of their trade to their national currencies, with 90% of Russia's trade with China conducted this way. At the BRICS summit held in Kazan last month, member states denounced “illegal” Western sanctions, stating that such restrictions pose a threat to the global economy.
