Noteworthy in the report, as pointed out by NBC News, is that Trump has accrued $300,000 from the sales of "The Greenwood Bible." This special edition of the Bible, priced at $59.99, features a handwritten chorus of 'God Bless the USA' by Lee Greenwood. Additionally, a limited edition signed by Trump is sold for $1,000 each.
The disclosures also reveal Trump’s ventures into the cryptocurrency space, with assets valued between $1 million and $5 million. Despite his earlier skepticism where he dismissed crypto as a "scam," Trump has adjusted his stance. He now maintains that the U.S. must take a leading role in the sector to counter China's influence.
“I know a lot of very good people that are really into that world and into that market. They’re smart, they’re good people, and they think it’s going to be very beneficial," Trump commented in a recent live stream with internet personality Adin Ross.
Among other insights from the disclosures, Trump faces more than $100 million in liabilities amidst legal confrontations in New York, which he decries as a politically motivated witch hunt.
Meanwhile, Melania Trump, Trump's wife, has also made substantial earnings through her ventures. The disclosure reports she received over $330,000 from a licensing agreement related to selling NFTs, in addition to being compensated over $237,000 for a speaking event with the Log Cabin Republicans scheduled in Florida for 2024.
In contrast, Democratic nominee and Vice President Kamala Harris also filed her annual disclosures, revealing a mainly passive investment strategy focusing on index funds, as reported by CNBC in May. A council member from CNBC’s Financial Advisor Council praised her portfolio as extremely transparent and resistant to manipulations. Additionally, the filings show Harris earned over $8,000 in royalties from her 2019 children’s book and a modest amount from her memoir, ‘The Truths We Hold.’ She also listed receiving tickets to a Beyonce concert, valued at more than $1,600, a personal gift from Beyoncé Knowles-Carter.
