Trump discusses details of phone conversation with Putin
The US president has characterized his conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin as “good” and “productive” following their agreement on an immediate ceasefire regarding energy infrastructure.

US President Donald Trump expressed that his call with President Putin was indeed “good” and “productive,” confirming that both leaders concurred on a ceasefire for energy infrastructure without delay.

According to Trump’s post on Truth Social, both leaders are committed to “[work] quickly to have a complete ceasefire and, ultimately, an end” to the hostilities.

“Many elements of a Contract for Peace were discussed, including the fact that thousands of soldiers are being killed, and both President Putin and President Zelenskyy would like to see it end,” Trump remarked.

He wrapped up by asserting that the peace process “is now in full force and effect,” with hopes that it “will, hopefully, for the sake of humanity, get the job done.”

Earlier, the Kremlin stated that Putin endorsed Trump's proposal for a 30-day halt to strikes on energy infrastructure, directing his military accordingly. This understanding was reached during their 2.5-hour discussion.

Furthermore, Putin informed Trump that Russia and Ukraine are set to undertake a prisoner exchange on Wednesday, based on a 175-for-175 arrangement. The Kremlin also confirmed that Putin responded positively to Trump's initiative concerning maritime security in the Black Sea.

Simultaneously, the Russian president proposed several prerequisites for a comprehensive cessation of hostilities, which include stopping military aid and intelligence sharing with Ukraine, as per the Kremlin’s statement.

Additionally, the two leaders reportedly deliberated on the situation in the Middle East and the prevention of future conflicts in the region.
