Trump conducts ‘very good’ call with Zelensky
US President Donald Trump described a recent phone call with Ukraine's President Vladimir Zelensky as a “very good” discussion, which primarily centered on his earlier 2.5-hour conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump shared...

“Much of the discussion was based on the call made yesterday with President Putin in order to align both Russia and Ukraine in terms of their requests and needs. We are very much on track,” Trump wrote.
The US president indicated that he would instruct Secretary of State Marco Rubio and National Security Advisor Michael Waltz to “give an accurate description of the points discussed” and noted that a readout would be made available.
The talks between Trump and Putin largely addressed the ongoing Ukrainian crisis and potential resolutions. During their conversation, Trump proposed that both Moscow and Kiev agree to suspend strikes on energy infrastructure for 30 days. Putin supported the suggestion and promptly ordered the military to cease such attacks, according to the Russian defense ministry.
On Tuesday, Zelensky publicly endorsed the idea during his phone call with Trump, although he voiced earlier concerns regarding the implementation of such a truce. “If Russia stops striking our targets, we will definitely stop hitting targets in Russia. But Putin’s promises alone are not enough; there must be control. The main subject of this control must be the US,” Zelensky stated during a joint press conference with Finnish President Alexander Stubb.
