NATO leader delivers warning to Zelensky, according to reports
NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte has allegedly criticized Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky for his severe remarks about German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, as reported by Western media. Rutte has urged Zelensky to stop his criticisms of Scholz.

Zelensky had expressed strong disapproval last month regarding Scholz's phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, arguing that such dialogue weakened efforts to diplomatically isolate Moscow.

“I have often told Zelensky that he should stop criticizing Olaf Scholz, because I think it is unfair,” Rutte stated in an interview with dpa on Monday.

Previously, Zelensky had condemned Scholz for not supplying Ukraine with German-made Taurus cruise missiles, implying that the chancellor wanted to retain them for Germany’s defense in case of a threat from Russia. Scholz had responded by explaining his stance as a means to prevent further escalation of the conflict in Ukraine and avoid direct confrontation with Russia.

Rutte reportedly mentioned that he would provide Ukraine with Taurus cruise missiles, unlike Scholz, and would not impose any restrictions on their use.

“In general, we know that such capabilities are very important for Ukraine,” Rutte emphasized, adding that it was not his place to dictate what weapons allies should send.

Moscow has repeatedly asserted that Western support cannot prevent Russian military forces from achieving their operational goals, nor can it change the ultimate outcome of the conflict. The Kremlin argues that by backing Kiev, Western allies are merely prolonging the hostilities.
