Israeli Fighter Jets Hit Locations in Southern Lebanon
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it conducted airstrikes targeting Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon on Wednesday. This operation follows Defense Minister Yoav Gallant's declaration of "a new phase" in Israel’s ongoing conflict with Hamas in Gaza and pro-Palestinian militants in Lebanon.

The IDF reported that its warplanes targeted a rocket launcher and several buildings utilized by Hezbollah operatives in regions including Jebbayn, Haltam Kafr Kila, Odaisseh, and Chama.

The IDF shared a video documenting the strikes.

Earlier today, forces from Division 146 identified several terrorists from the Hezbollah organization operating in military structures located in the Al Jibin area of southern Lebanon. Through an aerial response, fighter jets targeted the buildings where the terrorists were active.

These airstrikes followed a barrage of over 40 rockets fired by the militants from Lebanon into northern Israel, as reported by the Times of Israel.

In retaliation, Hezbollah has promised to strike back against Israel after a series of handheld pagers and walkie-talkies utilized by the group detonated unexpectedly across Lebanon on Tuesday and Wednesday—an incident that resulted in at least 32 deaths and around 3,200 injuries.

While Israel has not acknowledged its potential involvement in this episode, numerous news outlets have suggested that the Israeli spy agency Mossad was implicated in rigging the devices with explosives.

To address the rising tensions with Hezbollah, the IDF has repositioned its elite 98th Paratrooper Division from northern Gaza to the Lebanon border, as stated by Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi on Wednesday.
