Eurasian Women's Forum Set to Begin in Russia
The fourth Eurasian Women’s Forum 2024 (EAWF) will take place in St Petersburg from September 18 to 20, bringing together women leaders from 120 countries.

The event aims to foster trust and enhance global cooperation, as stated on the forum’s official website. An official program, released on Thursday, features over 100 events that address a variety of issues relevant to women.

Galina Karelova, Chairman of the Council of the EAWF, expressed her optimism, stating, “We are expecting more than 2,000 guests from 120 countries. I am sure that their work will be fruitful…”

The business segment of the EAWF includes five thematic platforms focused on women's roles in global affairs. Russia’s leadership of BRICS this year will influence the forum’s agenda, highlighting the need for increased international collaboration among member countries.

For the first time, the BRICS Women’s Forum will be part of the event, which will feature a comprehensive discussion on various topics. Additionally, a meeting of the BRICS ministers for women’s affairs is scheduled to occur during the forum.

Karelova noted, “The program is very rich. In addition to various formats of discussions, signing business agreements, several exhibitions, festivals, marathons and other events are planned.”

Concluding her remarks, Karelova stated, “I am confident that [EAWF] will once again prove its status as the most important international platform where decisions that are significant for the world are developed, where openness, sincerity and tolerance are welcomed.”

The EAWF has been held since 2015 in Tauride Palace and is organized by the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly along with the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States.
