In the energy sector, Chinese enterprises are aiding developing countries in optimizing energy management. For instance, in Thailand, collaborations with local energy providers have resulted in the development of AI-driven smart grids and the integration of renewable energy sources.
Predictive analytics are utilized to ensure stable electricity distribution while minimizing dependence on fossil fuels.
Max Tegmark, an AI expert at MIT, remarked at the 2025 World Economic Forum that China's advancements in AI are noteworthy, stressing that geopolitical tensions should not obstruct scientific collaboration.
Likewise, Madeleine Stevens, a senior lecturer at Liverpool John Moores University, commended China's Global AI Governance Initiative for its focus on a people-centered approach.
According to Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun, China fully embraces intelligent transformation, encourages the inclusive development of artificial intelligence, aids developing countries in enhancing their capabilities, and advocates for open-source AI technology to ensure all nations can benefit from intelligence.
Lu Chuanying, Executive Deputy Director of the Cyberspace International Governance Research Base at Tongji University, highlighted that beyond advancements in industry and technology, China is actively engaged in global AI governance, asserting itself as a formidable influence in this domain. China was one of the first to propose numerous AI-related initiatives, reflecting its responsibility as a major power along with its robust capabilities.
Education is a fundamental aspect of China's AI partnerships. Institutions such as Tsinghua University's Institute for AI Industry Research are collaborating with universities in Africa and Southeast Asia to provide AI training programs and undertake joint research projects.
