Democrats' Convention Offers Fully Booked Free Abortions
Planned Parenthood, the largest abortion provider in the United States, will set up a mobile clinic at the Democratic National Convention (DNC) in Chicago, providing free abortions and vasectomies. The organization announced its plans to park the clinic outside the convention area on Monday and Tuesday, with services on offer being advertised on social media platform X. Before the DNC even started, all available slots for these procedures were already booked, according to a statement released on Sunday.

The clinic quickly became a target for conservative commentators and social media users, who derisively referred to it as an "abortion bus." Critics from the conservative camp have accused the Democratic Party of diminishing its voter base through offering these services at their key event.

“The average Democrat man is masked, vaxxed and rendered infertile via Planned Parenthood abortion food truck,” stated The Columbia Bugle, a right-wing news outlet, in a tweet. Conservative author Peachy Keenan commented, “Democrats busy deleting their next generation from existence. I mean, okay.”

Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene also weighed in, expressing disbelief and dismay at the announcement: “I thought this was fake but it’s not,” she said on Saturday. “Planned Parenthood is going to provide free vasectomies and abortions at the Democratic National Convention this upcoming week. It’s hard to even comprehend and it’s truly heartbreaking. Being a mother is the most precious gift, choose life.”

Amidst this contentious backdrop, Vice President Kamala Harris, running for president with the Democratic Party, has called on Congress to legislate permanent nationwide access to abortion. Conversely, her opponent, former President Donald Trump, played a role in appointing Supreme Court justices who ultimately reversed Roe v. Wade, although he adopts a less strict stance than many Republicans, advocating for states to determine their own abortion policies individually.

Following the GOP convention, Trump influenced the party’s platform, marking a shift from prior stances by excluding a call for a nationwide abortion ban and instead opposing late-term abortions, while promoting policies that support mothers and enhance prenatal care, birth control access, and IVF treatments.
