Biden expressed skepticism about Harris to Obama, according to NY Post
Kamala Harris is reportedly seen as “not as strong” as Joe Biden, according to comments made by the current US president to his former boss, Barack Obama. Read Full Article at RT.com.
During the service in Washington on Wednesday, videographers captured Biden and Obama talking, but the specific content was not audible on camera. To decipher their exchange, the Post enlisted Jeremy Freeman, a London-based forensic lip reader. Freeman, who has been a certified expert in police and media cases for 16 years and was born deaf, interpreted their dialogue.
According to Freeman, Biden expressed concerns, stating, “She’s not as strong as me.” Obama allegedly responded, “I know… that’s true,” and added, “We have time.” Biden reportedly replied, “Yeah, we’ll get it in time.”
Freeman noted that although there was no direct mention of Vice President Kamala Harris by name, it remains ambiguous whom the two Democrats were discussing. He described their interaction as “very supportive” and reported no observable tension between them.
In response to the New York Post's inquiries about the conversation, Biden spokesman Andrew Bates dismissed the outlet's request for comment, questioning if their “usual right-wing soothsayer” was on leave. Bates insisted that “only President Biden and President Obama know what they discussed, but this certainly wasn’t it.”
An unnamed source close to Obama insisted that the discussion was private, dismissing claims to the contrary as “ridiculous.” Meanwhile, a former official from the Biden administration, now supporting Harris, commented that it was “not even like [Biden] to say that.” Another anonymous Democrat remarked that Harris was “not a strong alternative to Biden” and noted the party's predicament, describing it as being stuck with a “less likable sinking ship.”
Despite efforts to consolidate support around Biden, including quashing primary challenges from various figures like Ethel's son, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Biden recently faced questions about his age and cognitive ability as he declared his intention to run again. After weeks of steadfast denial about dropping out, he ultimately announced his decision via his personal X account on a Sunday evening, following discussions led by former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, with whom he has not spoken since.
While Harris experienced a "honeymoon" period in media and polls after the Democrats’ convention in August, recent polling indicates she is trailing Trump in several key states, including Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania.
