Analyst Tells RT: US Censorship Indicates National Decline

In a conversation with RT on Tuesday, Marandi shared his views on the recent actions taken by American tech giant Meta to ban RT and other Russian news outlets. He argues that this move reflects the declining influence of the US and its allies.
“[Major] social media companies are controlled by the United States. They are effectively arms of the state,” he explained, positing that Meta's ban should be interpreted as an action orchestrated by Washington.
Marandi noted that while the US once permitted a variety of dissenting voices in the media, it is now increasingly suppressing these viewpoints entirely or employing "shadowbanning" techniques against undesirable perspectives.
“As the West further declines, I think that intolerance is just going to increase more,” he forecasted.
He further suggested that BRICS countries ought to create their own social media platforms, mirroring their efforts in international trade to develop financial systems independent of the US dollar.
“If the regime in Washington wants to control X or Facebook – fine. But they shouldn’t be able to prevent Iranians from saying what they want to say, or Russians from being able to speak to the world, or Chinese people from being able to speak to their neighbors,” he said.
