The Liaoning Flying Leopards triumphed over the Jilin Northeast Tigers with a score of 112-99 in Shenyang, northeast China’s Liaoning Province, marking their second consecutive victory in the Chinese Basketball Association, bolstered by a standout performance from star guard Zhao Jiwei.

Zhao emerged as the standout player, sinking seven of his ten attempts from beyond the arc for a team-high total of 23 points, while also providing nine assists. With this performance, he became Liaoning's all-time assists leader, surpassing Guo Ailun by assisting on 2,581 made field goals for his teammates.

In the first quarter, Zhao excelled in both scoring and playmaking, hitting two three-pointers and facilitating easy scores for his teammates. By the end of the quarter, Liaoning held a narrow 28-24 lead.

In the second quarter, Jilin made a strong response, led by Dominique Jones and Tomas Kyzlink. Jones demonstrated his versatility by making outside shots and driving to the basket with impressive aggression. Kyzlink contributed to this momentum with a steal from Zhang Zhenlin, followed by a powerful solo dunk that quieted the home crowd. Thanks to a 13-5 run, the visitors took a 56-49 lead at halftime.

As the game resumed, Zhao and Zhang retaliated with aggressive attacks into the paint, and Kyle Fogg provided additional firepower to match Jones's efforts. Liaoning outperformed Jilin in the third quarter, scoring 31 points to Jilin's 20, regaining the lead at 80-76.

In the fourth quarter, Zhao continued his three-point shooting, which sparked an 11-3 run for the home team and widened their lead to double digits. Despite Jones's relentless scoring, culminating in a total of 42 points, Jilin was unable to turn the tide.

In another matchup that night, the league-leading Guangsha Lions secured a 105-98 victory against the Nanjing Monkey Kings on the road, preventing what would have been their third consecutive loss. Barry Brown Jr. showcased an impressive performance, hitting 12 of 24 shots from the field to score a game-high 38 points for the home team.
